Make a Hand Sock Puppet

Make a Hand Sock Puppet

Whilst I have been not working during the day this week due to beginning potty training with my two year old I decided to expand my collection of Children’s Craft alongside making fun projects for you to make at home with your little one’s!

With my love for sock creations I thought what better creation to start with would be a hand sock puppet! This creation isn’t too difficult to make however depending upon the age of the child adult supervision is advised. Project advised for those over 3 years of age due to small parts which may cause a chocking hazard.

You Will Need

One Medium / Large Colourful Sock
Two Large Googly Eyes
A sheet of Craft Foam
Coloured Pipe Cleaners
Needle & Thread / Craft or Fabric Glue

How To Make
Cut and fold section of craft foam to fit the end of your chosen sock.

Push the toe of your sock inside and slide the folded foam inside to create the mouth. Using either Fabric/Craft glue or a needle and thread secure the foam inside to the sock and if necessary leave to dry.

I have sewn the mouth area of this hand puppet and then glued on the two large googly eyes to the heal area.

Choose 4 of the coloured pipe cleaners, fold in half and twist around a pencil.

Add together to create some funky hair for your sock puppet.

These can then either be sewn or glued onto your hand puppet at the top of the heal area. If you choose to use glue then these will need to be left to dry before it can be played with.

Your project is finished – Well Done! I hope your children enjoy this project too I personally think it’s amazing how much fun can be had with this type of hand sock puppet!
