Odds & Soxlets began in 2010 when Erica became a first time mum who had a love of making something special from the things around her. What started with handmade Sock Monkey teddies – lovingly created from colourful, patterned socks – soon grew into something much bigger. It was from these original sock creations the name ‘Odds & Soxlets’ was born, and Erica slowly developed the business into a place where creativity, memories and handmade toys could all come together.
Over the years, Erica expanded her range to include Memory Makes – special memory teddies lovingly made from childhood clothing and other meaningful items, giving treasured memories a new life that could be held onto for years to come. She also created specialist baby teddies and her wonderfully unique Monstroubles: fluffy, mischievous-looking characters inspired by her own monster drawings and designed to bring a little fun and personality to children’s toys.
As her passion for toy making continued to grow, Erica began supplying specialist toy inserts and components too. What started as another part of the business, became a way for her to share the enjoyment of making toys with other creative people. By providing the little pieces that bring a handmade toy to life – from rattles and squeakers to jingle, tweet and crinkle inserts – Erica could help other makers experience the same joy and creativity that had inspired her from the very beginning.
After the shop was temporarily closed in December 2025, Odds & Soxlets has entered an exciting new chapter. The business has moved location and has now been handed down to Erica’s son, Harry, and his girlfriend, Kiera, who are taking on the challenge of re-establishing Odds & Soxlets and continuing the ideas, creativity and passion that Erica built over the years.
Sixteen years after it all began, we’re bringing Odds & Soxlets back – with the same love of handmade toys at its heart, while looking forward to creating something new for the next generation of makers.
